Waialea Bay, The Big Island of Hawaii

This small cove on the west side of Hawaii's Big Island is a treasure. I grew up on this beach, met my first crush, had my first kiss, got drunk, nearly died surfing the point and fell in love with my wife on this sand. It's a magical place. Surrounded by lava, it's an oasis from the world and a reminder to soak in the moments along the journey. The sand slopes gently into the water and the bay is protected, leaving a thriving community of marine life. Sand, rocks, deeply weathered Keawe trees and a sense of seclusion.....
